Three young ladies lost their lives on Thursday along Lagos-Benin highway after their bus was hit by a vehicle carrying the operatives of Nigerian Customs Service in a hot chase.

Son Kills Dad For Not Letting Him Go Back To Hausa Wife Due To Boko Haram

A 32-year-old man, Chinedu Em­manuel Nnalue (pictured above) is now cooling his heels behind bars follow­ing his arrest by detectives of the criminal investigation department in the Anambra State police command for allegedly macheting his 59-year-old father, Nwafor Nnalue to death.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hosea Karma, who confirmed the develop­ment, disclosed that the suspect equally cut the deceased’s hands and legs while muti­lating the body.
Saturday Sun gathered that the late Nwafor Nnalue was living in Damaturu, Yobe State with his family until they were forced to relocate to Anambra State as a result of the Boko Haram insur­gency. It was also learnt that the suspect, Chinedu was brought up in Yobe State before he travelled to South
Africa and re­turned to join his family in the state where he eventually married an indigene.

1.8 million PVCs not collected in Lagos – INEC

          
According to the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Lagos state, Mr. Akin Orebiyi, 1.8 million Lagos state residents have not collected their Permanent Voters card. Mr Orebiyi said this while on a visit to the Lagos state governor at the Lagos house Ikeja, yesterday Friday February 27th"As at yesterday (Thurs­day), the total number of cards collected in Lagos to date is 3.693 million of 5.5 million cards that we collected so far from Abuja. At the moment, we are still expecting another 430,000 cards which should arrive by next week. But meanwhile, we still have in our custody 1.8 million cards yet to been collected by residents" he said

Hollywood Actress Lupita Nyong’o stolen Oscar dress ‘recovered’

                     
The dress is studded with 6,000 natural white pearls
A dress “resembling” the $150,000 (£97,000) outfit worn by actress Lupita Nyong’o at this year’s Oscars that was stolen this week has been recovered, Los Angeles police have said.
It was found in a bathroom of the same Hollywood hotel where it was taken.
Police were tipped off by gossip site TMZ, who said they were contacted by a man claiming to be the thief.
He said he had returned the dress after learning the pearls studding the dress were fake.
The custom Calvin Klein-designed gown is coated with 6,000 natural pearls, but the purported thief said he took two of them for testing and were told they were not real.
Detectives are working with the owners of the dress to confirm if it is the dress.
But Michael White of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said he believed it was. No arrests have been made.

The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, Thursday, urged women in the country to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying no one loves Nigerian women than President Goodluck Jonathan. She tried a pun about the slogan of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), as she boasts that the PDP acts more and talks less.
“The PDP is a party that talks less and does more, unlike the APC that tells new lies every week. When you catch them today, they will tell another lie tomorrow. We (PDP) do not tell you about change because we are not bus conductors that ask for change,” said Mrs Jonathan at Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, where the PDP Women for Change Initiative Presidential Rally held.cut

LASU refunds N209million school fees to students!!!

                   
The Lagos state government has refunded N209m to students of the Lagos state University following the reversal of school fees by Lagos State University, LASU.
At a ceremony held at the Main auditorium of the Ojo campus of the school yesterday February 26th, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Fatai Olukoga who represented Gov. Fashola, said this was the first phase in the refund exercise. He said the second phase of refund which is about N89 million will take place soon.
12 students were presented with cheques ranging from N150,000 to N200,000 while the remaining money will be paid to the accounts provided by the other students.
The management of the school and the students had witnessed many months of protest following a hike in school fees until Governor Fashola intervened in September 2014 and ordered that the school fees be reversed.

My Sister and I lost our parents at the age of 4-5 years through CAR ACCIDENT. After our parents death my wicked uncle and his wife inherited all my parent's property since we were young and promised to cater for us. Few days later things became worst ..we stopped schooling since he refused to pay our fees.
They mistreat US..living with them was like a hell. I couldn't bear to see myself and sis suffering..one night I pack out and run away from home with my sis to begin life on the street.
We became beggers on the street ..slept at filthy place . our clothes looks very dirty. Life was so unfair to us but we had no choice. Fortunately one afternoon we were begging on the street when one woman in a car ..asked me.. 'Where are your parents??'..I started crying bitterly and I humbly told her my story . She felt my pain and told me I shouldn't worry she will help US..soon everything will be well again. Few days she came around and took us to her home..I was happy but sad because she's a total stranger to us. She told us she's got no children so she want to adopt us...we got excited..at last our suffering will end. She gaves good education and treated us so well. Now my SISTER is a DOCTOR and I'm an ENGINEER. Today your life can change too. just believe and trust in GOD. NYSC Member Commits Suicide over Girlfriend.

The body of a 26-year-old National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, member, identified as Ernest, was, Wednesday, recovered from his one room apartment after he reportedly took a poisonous substance.
Reports indicated that the young man, who was in love with a fellow NYSC member, Chioma Okewuru, went berserk when the girl came back from her village over the weekend with a ring from a man she had promised to marry.
Ernest, who is from Edo State and a graduate of the University of Benin, was posted to Cross River State in October, where he met and fell in love with Chioma, and both were serving in Redemption
Secondary School, Ofombogha 1 in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross Rivers State.

Mayhem in Lagos: Four Killed, 27 Vehicles Destroyed in Gang War.

 
Pandemonium broke out in the Mosafejo, Oshodi-Isale area of Lagos State, after rival groups said to be members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, clashed on Tuesday evening and early Wednesday.
Four people were reportedly killed, while several others were injured in the fracas which was stopped after the intervention of security agencies.
PUNCH Metro gathered that no fewer than 15 commercial buses were set on fire, while 12 others were vandalised. Makeshift stalls in the Mosafejo Motor Park were also torched, leaving traders in
the park mourning their losses.
When PUNCH Metro visited the scene of the incident on Wednesday, the atmosphere was still tense as men of the Nigeria Police Force and some soldiers were observed patrolling the area. The motor park, usually filled with vehicles, was deserted as the police armoured tanks and patrol vans took over the space.
 Broken bottles, shards of glass from shattered windscreens and pebbles, said to have been deployed by some of the hoodlums during the fight, littered the road. Bloodstains dotted the Oshodi Roundabout, where a man was said to have been shot dead and his corpse taken away by the police. A vehicle was still burning as of 1pm when our correspondent passed the area.

The arrival of a baby in every home heralds joy. But this was not the case for Mr. Mudashiru Sheriffdeen of Bosun Street, Ifo in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The wife, Taiwo, was on Tuesday delivered of a baby boy who had no arms. The baby boy weighed 3.25 kilogrammes at birth and was born around 2pm at a private hospital, Majotal Medical Clinic at the Ilogbo area of Ado/Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The mother of the baby told MetroPlus that immediately she gave birth to the baby boy, her husband took to his heels on hearing that the baby was born without arms.
Expressing her sadness, she said:

Two Nigerian Workers in Dubai Arrested for Stealing Vehicle Spare Parts

 
Two Nigerian workers in have appeared before the Dubai Criminal Court for allegedly stealing computers and spare parts from mini buses after breaking into them.
According to Emirates 24/7 the accused persons, who are 26 years old and 30 respectively, would travel on their motorbike from Sharjah where they resided, to Dubai and roam around in search of buses to steal from. Their preferred type of vehicle was Toyota Hiace. After locating the buses, they would break the glass window, open the bus and steal its parts.
Owners of the buses reported the incidents to the police on several occasions, leading to the arrest of the accused.
During interrogations, the pair revealed that they would ship the stolen spare parts and computers outside the country.
The court will reconvene at the beginning of March.

Woman Who Wedded Last Weekend Kills Husband

 
Rahma Hussaini, an 18-year-old wife, on Wednesday February 25, stabbed her newly wedded husband at Darmunawa quarters of Kano after the couple had a quarrel. The young couple got married last Friday, February 20. A neighbour, Isa Alhassan revealed that Rahma was forced to marry the 24-year-old Tijjani Basiru.
“We were alarmed by a frightening scream of a subdued man in need of rescue and we rushed to discovered that the man of the house was in the pool of his blood. Neighbours mobilized and took the groom to the hospital but doctors confirmed him dead on arrival,” Alhassan said.
According to the eyewitness, the bride was handed over to the police after killing her husband. ‘
The Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Musa Majia confirmed the incident, saying “at about 10:00hrs one Rahma Hussaini of Darmunawa quarters stabbed her husband, one Tijjani M Basiru on his stomach with a knife and was rushed to AKTH.”
ASP Magaji Musa Majia further revealed that the victim of the attack was later confirmed dead and the female suspect has been taken into custody.
