Our correspondent gathered that the planned attack might be a
retaliation on the convoy of the presidential candidates of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday in Katsina State.
He alleged
that the ruling PDP has organized thugs that would disrupt the rally
penned to hold at the Democracy Park in Akure. Democracy Park is located
at a busy angle and right behind the popular Oja Oba market.

supporters and convoy of dignitaries that would visit in
Akure tomorrow (Saturday).
"As we gathered from a reliable source
with the camp of the PDP, the thugs, which were being sponsored
directly by Governor Mimiko, were hired from the neighboring states.

Meanwhile, a member of the APC in the
state, Adegboyega Aderinye, has condemned the exorbitant rate the state
government billed the party for its rally tomorrow.
Aderinye said
"What is the state government under Governor Olusegun Mimiko turning
to, we were billed millions of Naira to use Democracy park for just a
few hours? This is barbaric and uncalled for."
