President Goodluck Jonathan’s entourage has again been stoned during a campaign rally in Bauchi State.
Jonathan’s convoy was initially pelted with stones on Tuesday, January 20, during a campaign visit to Katsina State.
Youths in Bauchi are also said to have replicated the assault by stoning some delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with pebbles, slippers, hammers, sachet water and other objects.
The
attackers were said to have been singing Jonathan’s praise upon arrival
at the Ibrahim Babangida Square, where the rally held.
However, when the President arrived at the venue, their song reportedly changed and they launched the attack on the delegates.
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bala Mohammed was said to have been stoned with sachet water during the assault.
The
youths were also said to have taken up chants of “Sai Buhari”, “Sai
Baba Buhari” showing their support for the Presidential candidate of the
All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari.
